Housing Poll

We just received our 2010 tax appraisal in the mail yesterday and it seems like all appraised values decreased about 5% in our area.  (Allen in Collin County)[Poll]

Re: Housing Poll

  • I answered based on the house we are buying in Dallas, but we have not closed yet. The 2010 proposed value is the same as 2009, but we are paying 31% less than the current appraised value so next year we will be protesting to get the value down to actual market value.
  • Ours went up about 5% which is much better than the previous year, we went up over 20%. We are in Richardson.

  • Ours went up about 2%. We will probably apeal it just because their hasn't been anything done to the house and that is the value that increased.

We're in Richardson too...Ours went up something insane like close to 100%.  But, it's because our house was a foreclosure in 08, purchased by an investor for next to nothing, flipped, and resold to us in 09 for nearly 2x.  We don't really have a leg to stand on for contesting because the purchase price is what the value is listed as on DCAD.
