update to the mold issue
I spent the better half of the afternoon in the ER. They ran several tests and I should be receiving those results shortly. I have yet to hear back from my landlord regarding the mold in one of AC vents. Tomorrow morning I am calling our property management company (DH and I own a home in Central Florida) I'm sure they will have an understanding for the state laws regarding this type of issue and how I should proceed. I'm livid, but feel to crappy to get too worked up about it. I'm worried my daughter's health and my own. These last two weeks of our lease cannot pass any quicker.
... Thanks for your responses to how I should handle the mold. I have not messed with it, I've shut off the AC unit and opened the windows to try and keep it cool in here without circulating the air. We'll just avoid that section of the house until I hear further.
Re: update to the mold issue
Sine you are going to be in the apt for two more weeks...can you seal off the air conditioner? Maybe your DH can go to home depot and get that plastic stuff that you put over drafty windows- the shrink wrap kind. I think you are supposed to use a hair drier to shrink seal it. I would also duct tape around the plastic to really keep it out. Just to get you through the time with the least amount of exposure to spores.
I hope you feel better. Keep the windows open (like you are already doing). Can you move out two weeks early?
