The boss' assistant is so annoying!
Her cube is right outside my office and either she doesn't care who hears her conversations or she's deaf and has no sense of her own volume, but she's so freakin' loud and her voice is annoying! I just closed my door and I can still hear her.
Sorry for the vent, just had to get that out.

Good thing you have a door to close! I hate overhearing people's conversations. It makes me feel uncomfortable. I hated talking on the phone with DH when I used to sit in a cube. I knew everyone could hear me and I felt so awkward. He never ever understood why I would rush off the phone. Now I have an office and it is heavenly. I shut the door when I am on the phone, or when someone else is. I'm sorry you can still hear her, though.
That stinks. It would drive me nuts, too.
My previous cube was right next to a big conference room, so people would often stand (and frequently lean on) my cube and have loud conversations. It was also near the kitchen, which seems separate (so everyone talks at full volume), but it is also open to the rest of the floor. I'm still somewhat close to the kitchen, but it's not bad.
