Where are you going in Alaska? We went last year (took a cruise the first week the ships started for the season) and LOVED it.

Are you going on the Sapphire Princess by chance? Our cruise last year was out of Vancouver and we did basically the same thing. In Skagway I HIGHLY recommend the train ride - it is fantastic. Definitley hit up the Red Dog Saloon in Juneau for a beer and some sing-a-long with the old man in there - he is hilarious. We did the mine tour and panning for gold in Ketchikan and it was really interesting.
I hope you luck out with weather like we did. We had sun and 60's until our last day when we docked in Anchorage.

Butting in here - I second the Red Dog Saloon where Red Dog beer got it's start. It was a fun bar to visit. Are you doing the helicopter ride to the glacier? It was an amazing ride! Take lots of pictures. If you get a chance to dog sled, I'd take that option too. Hopefully the weather is good for you. It was in the 50's when I went in the dead of summer. The sights will be absolutely breathtaking!
