Re: SAHD topic

Do you watch Parenthood? Oooh how I love that show! Anyways, one of the characters is a SAHD and whenever they show scenes of him with the SAHM's he is a total rock star & they all love him. I always wonder how many times that is true for SAHD's in real life.

Also, Ted has a friend who lives in Texas & is a SAHD. Ted was asking him is he ever gets any sh!t from his friends about that, and his friend said no. He mainly only gets ragged on by the other SAHM's. LOL. I thought that was funny.

IMHO I think that if you are ok with Aaron being a SAHD someday, and he's ok with it, then I think that would be awesome for your children to have a parent home with them. Different strokes for different folks, right? :) That's what makes the world go 'round!

Re: ::tracy::

  • Thanks Sarah!  I have not seen Parenthood.  It's actually on my list of shows to catch on reruns this summer :-)

    The SAHD issue just came up in conversation last night and we haven't fully addressed it.  We were kind of just gathering some information on it.  We have awhile before we'd even have to consider it, I was just curious as to other point ov views on the issue.

    I do know one thing, if Aaron was a SAHD the house would always be clean and I'd never be able to find ANYTHING!  That's the way it is on weekends with him b/c of his OCD.

  • Parenthood is so good! I think you'll really like it. I like it because there's no storyline that is like "yeah... that would never happen." Every storyline seems to be thought out carefully and they make sure that the story stays true to what real families may go through. Plus I <3 Lauren Graham.

    It sounds like having Aaron home would be a good thing & a bad thing! lol. On one hand your kids would be well taken care of & your house would be clean. On the other hand you'd never be able to find your shoes. Hahaha.

    If it were Ted & me in the situation he would hide all of my shoes. I'm really bad about taking them off as soon as I walk in the door, and then they stay wherever that spot is. Ted hates that.

    Are we long lost sisters?! I'm the EXACT same way and it drives Aaron bonkers!

  • Hahaha, maybe! It drives Ted especially nuts if I leave them in the middle of the floor in our bedroom. He says he trips over them if he gets up in the middle of the night. I don't try to leave them there, it just happens. Wink
