Any luck finding a new position for the next school year? I too, am losing my job in September (not a teacher, just a layoff because corporate is moving our site to the Philippines, nice eh?) so I feel your pain.
Oh, I read that in the post below. I'm new here.
From Akron, OH (home of LeBron James!), work in Cleveland, got married in November and getting settled. Saving for a house. Hopefully in a year or two we'll be able to buy (dependent on me finding a new job) and I'm trying to talk H into a dog.
Re: Mrs.J
No luck yet. I've had a few interviews. I also find out about one job tomorrow. It's at my high school, so it'll be interesting if I get it. It's still kind of early, so I am not quite freaking out yet.
However, my husband's position was cut as well (We are in a very rural area and fine/practical arts are not a priority). He's also had a few interviews. We're hopeful, we have family support, and we have each other.
Not to sound like I'm seeking pity, but we've had a rough 8 weeks. We both lost jobs, my car needed major work, I need a root canal, and my grandpa was on life support for 5 days and passed away, all in the last two months. I know it sounds lame, but if we can get through this really tough time so early on in our marriage I know we'll be able to handle anything that comes our way later.
Thanks for asking, Joey. Good luck with your job search!
Oh I am so sorry to hear that. That's a lot of things to be thrown on the both of you all at once and your stress level must be through the roof. But, I think you're right, that dealing with this together, as a team, will solidify your marriage even more. I truly hope that the stress starts lessening and that you both find new jobs.
T & P's to both of you in the job search and everything else!
