so it's one of my close friends birthday next week, she decided she wanted to have a party on Saturday. She started out saying she wanted to book a room at the Japanese place in town. Well it looked like it was going to be a lot of people, so I told her if she wanted to just have it at my house, she could and I'd cook whatever for it (her buying the food). It's going to be ridiculous, she bought a $300 dress to wear and even had a cake made - fancy enough that she had to go to a flavor tasting.
Anyway, I called her this morning because I still needed to find out what I was going to be cooking for it, if it was a meal or heavy hors d'ouvers. She says that she decided to just have everyone go to the seafood restaurant on the lake. AKA the most expensive freaking place in town. And the food SUCKS. I don't mind paying a lot for good food...not for raw shrimp.
So I'm really dreading it. And not to mention the clusterf*ck that will be a group of 30+ people trying to sort the bill because you know they won't do seperate tickets for that many people.
And she won't get to talk to everyone when you're at a super long table. The things you do for friends.

Re: ugh, dreading the weekend
I really hate large groups dining together for that reason. People try to get away with paying less than they should and some people have to foot the bill for others..it's so damn awkward!
