so i'm in the teacher's lounge cutting paper when a co-worker (who is younger than me) comes in and goes into the restroom. very shortly after, a group of 4 teenagers from the high school (they come help out with the little kids once a week) come into the lounge, getting snacks from the machine and just babbling on like teenage girls do.
one of the girls tries the bathroom door, finds it locked, comes back over to the snack machine (which is located near where i'm cutting paper) and says, "come on! man, old ladies take forever to pee." excuse me? i'm picturing a gray haired, stooped octogenarian, and she's talking about someone like me! ah, the mind of a teen...
(how i apparently look to her, at 40:)

Re: most offended! *huff huff* ;)
That's a great story. When I was in my 20s I looked young for my age, so I used to get really offended about getting carded or having people tell me I didn't look old enough to teach a college class. Oh, what I'd give for those days.
And Devil_Ducky, I totally feel your pain. I hate when people complain about thirties being "old," especially in regard to motherhood. It's actually a really touchy subject for me.
Ok that post didnt come out right.
By saying "And by it is for me too:" biological clock ticking. Still single. Etc. Wondering if my eggs are starting to wither. Seeing everyone around me with husbands and babies and really feeling that itch.
The secondary part was just to say that albeit the worrying about the future, Im still having a blast and while some days I wish things were different, most days Im incredibly happy with the decisions Ive made in my life.
i student taught at a 6th grade center, and the students were required to carry their student ID with them while in the school. i can't tell you how many times the campus officers asked me for my student ID. "i'm a student teacher." "oh, sorry."
