Cleaning Poll...

Out of sheer curiousity...

1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week?

2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week?

3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be?

Re: Cleaning Poll...

  • 1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week? Hm... I would say about 6 hours

    2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week? I prefer to do it all in one shot. I'm more motivated to get it done, and I don't really have to deal with it for another week or so. Unfortunately, I often don't have the time to do it like that...

    3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be? Dishes. I HATE doing dishes. Luckily I don't need a cleaning fairy, I have a wonderful DH!!! Wink

  • 1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week? Now that summer's here, probably an hour a day--before, it was up to DH during the week and I would help on weekends.

    2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week?  It's nice to spread it out during the week; however, depending on what's happening during the week, it can get dumped into a major cleaning day or weekend.

    3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be?  Dusting.  We have a lot of baseboards, molding, fans, shelves, porcelain...dusting everything is very tasking.

  • 1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week?

Just me?  About 2 hours sounds right.

    2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week?

Definitely try to spread it out.

    3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be?

    Sorting/Folding/Putting away laundry.

  • My computer had a mini freak out... here are my answers

    1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week?  I think it averages out to an hour or two a day.

    2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week?  I try to spread it out but I often end up doing most of it on my day off (I hate doing that though!).

    3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be?  Clean my toilet.  It's doing wack things that I can't figure out and it's not fun to clean.

    Love it!

  • 1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week?

I would say about 2-3 hours.

    2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week?

I like to do it all on one day.  I look at it as my big workout for that particular day.

    3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be?

My least favorite job ever is cleaning the litter box.  Fortunately I trade doing that for laundry/ironing, which DH can't stand.  Since that's taken care of, I would have to say dishes.

  • 1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week? Not enough, but it seems like too much! Maybe 2-3 hours.

    2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week? We spread most of it out, but all the "big stuff" gets done on the weekends.

    3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be? Does laundry count? Definitely laundry. If that doesn't count then it would have to be the litterbox.

  • 1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week? 3-4 hours

    2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week? We do all of the big stuff (vacuum, dust, bathroom) on the weekends, laundry is done as needed as is taking the garbage/recycling out and running the dishwasher.

    3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be? Can I say all of it? Hiring a cleaning service is on the top of my list of luxuries I wish we could have! We have the $$, I just can't justify spending it on that...my mom might kill me.

  • 1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week?

    I think about 3-4 hours.

    2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week?

I do the regular stuff (loading/unloading the dishwasher, laundry, trash out, etc.) on a daily basis. I hate to go to sleep with a dirty kitchen. But then I do the major stuff like bathrooms/floors/dust all on one big cleaning day.

    3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be?

    The bathrooms!!!

  • 1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week?

Hard to say. It's definatley a 'bits and pieces' kind of thing, with major projects being done as time allows and current irritation level. DH helps with laundry, dishes, and dog duties.

    2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week? VERY spread out. My schedule is so erratic, there's never a plan, things just get done based on current needs.

    3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be?

When I work OVER 40 hours a week, my cleaning fairy does come by, but I've cut the expense recently, to save some money. (Over the holidays, I was working 7-9 day stretches; on my day off I shopped, and slept). Overtime has been temporarily abolished, so I've been trying to keep up on my own. It's a small apartment, so getting it cleaned is cheep.  For me, it's the bathroom, and floors. I HATE to mop and vacuum!

  • 1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week? I'd say including dishes and laundry about 6 to 7 hours. More/ less given the amount of shifts worked, meals cooked etc.

    2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week? I like to keep on top of it as much as possible so I will go around and tidy a little as needed but if I have a bigger job to tackle like mopping the floors or vacuuming everything I devote a whole day to it.

    3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be? Have her go to Leons, shell out 500 bucks for a portable dishwasher and get her to lug it up 3 flights of stairs! That would put an end to my dishwashing woes.

    1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week?  Far too much to be considered even remotely normal!

    2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week?  It is usually spread out throughout the week with one giant cleaning spree in the middle (the spree itself usually takes about 5 hours plus all the other stuff!)

    3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be? Laundry! If I could afford it I would employ someone just to fold it. I can't stand it! I especially hate folding it when it is still warm from the dryer. Something about it just gives me that fingernails on a black board feeling!  (I need professional help, I know, lol)

  • 1) How much time do you think you spend cleaning a week? 4 to 5 hours. only because if our kiddos though.

    2) Do you have one major cleaning day or try to spread it out throughout the week? it's spread out during the week and one day on the weekend I'll dust, clean the bathroom, and do some organizing.

    3) If you could have the cleaning fairy do one job for you, what would it be? pick up the toys and clean the carpets:)
