T&P for friend's dad please.

My friend's dad was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.  They found it early and the outlook is good.  I don't know very much at all about this type of cancer, but one of the treatment options is to insert radioactive capsules into the rectum (I think.....whatever is near the prostate) and the radiation kills the cancer.  He had this procedure done this morning and should be released from the hospital this afternoon.

If you could keep him in your thoughts I'd appreciate it!  The downside is that he can't be around his grandkids for 3 months due to the radiation in his body, but this option was better than surgery.

  • Lots of thoughts to him!
  • I hope your friend calls her dad radioactive man from now on.

Tons of T&P to him and his family!!

  • I hope the treatment works! Avoiding surgery is always best, but it does suck he has to avoid his grand children for so long.
  • Hope the treatment works well for him!

  • T&P! Prostate cancer is relatively easy to cure if it's the common slow growing type and it's caught early. A lot of the men at the nursing home have had it.

  • If it makes you feel any better... most men have a small bit of it in their system (or so I was told)... My step-father (who did not die from P.C.) had it and they put these gold seeds in him for the radiation and it turned out fine!  Still T&P to your friend's dad!... No fun doing the treatments and feeling like he will...

My friend's mom didn't think it was very funny when she said "So, dad is having radioactive anal beads put in him?".  Stick out tongue
