i just left this as my status update on my fb... hahaha
and i wanted to repost it here. because clearly, it's not out of my system yet. hahah but i figure everyone's comments on fb and tn will loosen up my tension... hahahah
i feel like ross when his boss ate his TG sandwich... hahaha
my fb status:
dear person at my law firm who ate one of my birthday muffins:
i know you saw my yummy muffins that my gf gave me for my birthday. i am pissed that you would think you were entitled to a box that was labelled "happy birthday jenn! enjoy! love (gf and her family)"
if you aren't jenn, it's not your bday, and you don't know... anyone named (gf), then wtf?!
btw, i'm a raging hormonal b*tch right now.
the note i left in the fridge:
"Dear person who ate one of my birthday muffins:
Why did you eat one of my birthday muffins if 1) your name is not jenn 2) it's not your bday 3) you don't know the people on this box. I'm usually a chill person, but WTF?!?!?! I don't even care who you are. What goes around, comes around and that's enough for me. Enjoy the rest of your day."
Re: XP VENT: office fridge ettiquette
Something similar happened to me a long time ago. I can't remember now what it was. I was furious. Who would do such a thing to think we're all professionals!! I make sure to leave a little sticky with my name on it whenever I leave food in the fridge.
I love that you left a note though!! lol.
girl, i usually leave my name on anything in there.
the box had the writing in big black sharpie pen marker!!! omfg.
i wouldnt' care so much if it was my lunch, my yogurt whatevs...
but my bday muffins?!?!? as a gift from my gf?!?! boo on them.

LOL. This!
Happy birthday!
Don't even get me started on this subject!
I had a chick eat my LAST 2 pieces of bread that I eat every morning for my peanut butter toast w/out even asking or saying anything about it. Then to top it off...she left just the bread butts in the fridge!
I love that you left a note, wish I had thought of that at the time. But instead I left a subtle b*@#&y hint to her face how inappropriate that was. I was so mad!!

A. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
B. Good for you for leaving a note... that was so incredibly rude. It's rude enough to take food that's not yours but someone's BIRTHDAY muffin? People amaze me. Again - love the note!
ditto!
This was happenning a lot at my work, and our VP brought it up in a staff meeting and reminded everyone that "taking something that is not yours is stealing and theft is not accepted at this company".
Are you effing serious? That is just plain rude!
Happy Birthday btw!
haha, that's awesome! and yes, how rude!!
someone ate my persimmon out of an office fridge once, i was pissed. walk across the street to the grocery store and buy your own persimmon! that's what i had done - before you ATE it!
...i can't remember if i read it here or elsewhere, but i read once somewhere that someone was eating someone else's *leftovers* from the office fridge! like, out of the takeout container. rude - yes, but ewww! who knows what could have been in there, or if the person was sick, or what!
how rude!
love the note
thanks guys
i'm cool now.
i took down the note about an hour ago. my auntie works with me, so she got mad that i put "wtf" in there. HAHAHA
but if you knew the culture where i work, abbreviations are nothing. hahahaha
not trying to make excuses, but my threshhold for stupidity is low sinc ei've been sick for a long time. hahahah oops.
but yay for my coworkers getting my back
hahahah

Happy Birthday Jenn! Boo to your inconsiderate co-irker, but I love how you responded...brilliant! I may just have to try that myself.
For the most part, my coworkers are very respectful when it comes to the kitchen...that said, there's always one or two who leave dishes in the sink (rather than load them into the dishwasher) or takes the last cup of coffee without refilling the coffee maker, leaves a splatter in the mircowave, etc. Then other coworkers file off nasty emails or put memos in our boxes ranting about it. I'd much prefer the approach you took...I think approaching problems with a sense of humor gets WAY more respect and is remembered.
