So at the end of the month, we're hosting our niece and nephew, 17 and 14, respectively. Should be interesting. I haven't spent a whole lot of time with either since they're DH's brother's children and we haven't ever lived close to them. They'll be spending 9 days with us. Any ideas of activities we can do? I know the 17 yr old is a little on the goth side and probably won't like anything I suggest anyway because of her age. The 14 yr old is rather quiet and I know he enjoys ROTC. That's about it.
Re: Entertainment Ideas...
For the older one, you may want to take her on a cemetary tour. Teenagers are probably going to want to do something that their friends can relate to. Not something too obscure. But don't be surprised if they really want to go to the pool, watch TV, play on the computer, etc.
Good luck.
This. LOL

Thanks. Talked with DH. Kids actually sounded excited about a plantation tour. Apparently they've been working on the civil war in history. Also we're planning on taking them fishing/crabbing and a trip to Avery Island and New Orleans is on the agenda.
