Toe Nail Etiquette POLL

Re: Toe Nail Etiquette POLL

  • I have to admit that I took off my toe polish 3 days ago because it was looking really terrible.  I haven't had the opportunity to re-paint them.  But it's definitely on my list of to-dos for today.
  • I have been super busy and haven't had time to paint my toes.  I have been wearing closed toe shoes to work this week, but they gave me a nasty blister.  So today I'm in flipflops going au naturel.  I was curious how much of a faux pas this was, hence the poll.

I never considered painted toes a necessity or even preferred until I moved to NC.  It seems up in Jersey there were a lot more people without painted toes. Weird how it is regional.

  • I think it depends on how your natural nails look. Mine don't look good at all. I can't remember the last time I had completely unpainted toenails, but I'm guilty of trying to pretend my grown out pedi from 4 months ago still counts.
  • I picked it is a MUST!  I dont worry about it so much in the winter, but when its time for the toes to be out - the toes have got to be painted!  Dude even with my broken ankle I had my niece paint my toes.  The toes have got to look good.

Ditto. I had my mom paint mine when I was in a cast.

I can't leave the house without my toenails painted, but it's more that I feel naked without polish. I don't really notice other people's.

  • I'd rather see unpainted nice looking toenails than a pedicure with the paint chipped and half gone.

you're making the rest of us slackers look bad!

I've been meaning to paint mine, but i'm not anti natural either.

  • I picked "must"! Granted I was raised in Mississippi where etiquette is a very big must compared to everywhere else I have lived. Even if I spend the entire summer in flip flops my toes have to be nicely painted and look good. This is something I learned from my mom! i think pretty much everybody I know keeps their toes up to date when its flip flop weather! Although I think if your nails look good and you can get by with natural you should go with that! Its what You think is right and feel comfortable with!!
  • yeah, i work around a pool 20 hours a week and my polish chips in .02 seconds. i'm not repainting them every day, so i'm not painting them at all. i don't see how it's etiquette at all unless you're in a business environment and even then most don't allow open toed shoes from what i know.

then again, i don't own any face makeup either...
