**Suze** (and other fashionable ladies)
I bought this dress to wear to my brother's graduation ceremony. How this spring has been progressing, I was expecting a nice, warm spring day. However, now it looks like the high is only going to be in the low-60s. With that in mind, would you wear tights with this dress?
Its a very light-weight dress, and I'm trying to figure out if I can make it work with a cardigan and maybe tights (or nylons) to keep my legs warm, or if I should just scrap that idea and wear pants.
Re: **Suze** (and other fashionable ladies)
I'm flattered that you think of me as a fashionable lady.
With flutter sleeve dresses like that, I usually try to avoid cardigans because they hide that feature of the dress. I would probably wear a scarf instead, either as shawl or looped around my neck with one end of the scarf behind my back and one end in front. A scarf could also be a nice way to add a punch of color to the black dress.
As for legwear, I would probably wear patterened tights. Something with a subtle or lacy kind of pattern can be a nice way to ease yourself into the trend. TJ Maxx and Target are my favorite places to get tights.
Something like these (from Target) are what I have in mind.
Okay, thanks. You don't think the dress is too short and summery to be paired with tights then? My concern was that it would look goofy for that reason, but I have no idea.
Thanks for your input! I appreciate it!
I think if the tights are patterned to lighten them up a bit, it will look good. You could also look for something colorful if you're feeling really adventurous--I have a pair of grey tights with black polka dots that would work, or a pair of fuschia ones that I would consider, too.
