Poll about hosiery

What type of hosiery do you normally wear--tights (either opaque or patterned), sheer nylons, or non?

Does it depend on the occasion (i.e. always wear tights to work, bare legs when dressing up an evening out)?  Does in depend on the season?

[Poll]

Re: Poll about hosiery

  • I wear either sheer nylons (to work and for formal evenings) or none (outside of work and for more casual events).

I don't feel like I'm cool enough to pull off the tights look.  Stick out tongue

  • Kasa, you are definitely cool enough to rock tights.

I typically wear tights from November to May to work and casual functions.  Right now I'm struggling with the cooler days we've had this week--do I wear tights because it's the right temperature or now that I've broken out bare legs is it too late to wear tights?

Throughout the spring and summer, I'll forgo hosiery of any kind.

For events requesting cocktail attire or more formal, I'll typically forgo hosiery.

You ARE most definitely cool enough.

I should add that tights-buying became a pretty big addiction for me once I took the plunge.  I have been known to buy 4 or more pairs in one shopping trip.  Love tights!

  • I wear pants 95% of the time.

I wear tights with my dresses in the 'winter.'

If I'm going someplace 'fancy' I'll wear nylons.  This is usually limited to gala fundraisers.

If it's warm I wear nothing, except for the above mentioned fancy places.

I've sworn off hosiery, when I was on The Knot 4-5 years ago it was very uncool to admit you wore hose on ANY occasion.
  • I love tights, but more for fall and winter.  Spring and summer I tend to go bear legged, but I am a student so it is not like I'm heading to a professional office or anything.  My daily dress is casual.

I don't wear skirts in cold weather except to go to the Nutcracker every Christmas (and for that I wear thigh-highs). I wait until it's warm and I don't have to torture myself with the major struggle of getting the d*mn things on.

  • Usually none - because I'm kind of a hussy like that and just too lazy to purchase anything.  I don't really wear skirts/dresses in the winter and cold weather though either.
  • I tend to do tights in the winter and go bare legged in the summer.
