What book are you reading?
I just finished reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett and it was excellent. I highly recommend it. It's set in Mississippi back in the 60s and is about the relationship between black maids and the white families they work for. It's told from the viewpoint of a few different characters so it's very interesting. It ends up being a fairly quick read because you just get so into it. The next book I plan to read is Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I've heard really good things about it.
What book are you reading or are there any that you recommend?

I just finished The Help too! I loved it as well, I couldn't put it down. I stayed up until 3 in the morning last weekend to finish it.
Next up is Love is a Mixtape: Love and Loss One Song at a Time by Rob Sheffield.
I just bought The Road for DH for the upcoming Father's Day. I love that book and I'm excited to read it again now that I'm a parent. It's depressing, but in an inspirational way, if that makes any sense. I read it in a night and cried a lot.
And I recently finished The Secret Life of Bees, which was sweet and poetically written. It wasn't as moving as I thought it would be, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
I'm a nerd... one because I love to read and two because lately I have been reading a lot of work-related books. Right now I am reading No Angel: My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hells Angels. I am hoping to be selected for an undercover course so I am reading this to possibly help me, if I am selected, and for the entertainment. It's an easy and interesting read. I'm learning more about outlaw motorcycle clubs, that's for sure.
I'm going to add The Help to my list... never heard of it before you ladies mentioned it but it sounds very interesting.
MH is reading this too! He gets into these phases and right now he's into the biker thing. We've been watching Sons of Anarchy and he just picked up a whole bunch of books on the Hell's Angels. I was thinking of reading it after I finish my Mixed Tape book.
I think now he's back onto his jiu-jitsu/MMA kick because he's reading BJ Penn's book.
It's an easy read... pretty good book, IMO. I am the same way as YH though. I will go through phases, especially when it comes to reading books for work purposes, such as this one and the next one I plan on reading about Columbine. I figure I can either read boring material on work related stuff or actually semi enjoy my time off and read an interesting book that could possibly help me.
We're watching Sons of Anarchy too and we're hooked.
Loved Into This Air, if you wind up liking Into Thin Air, I'd recommend his other 2, Under the Banner of Heaven and Into the Wild.

I just read "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follet. It was brilliant. It is 1000 pages long and I liked it so much, I read it in 2 weeks..... needless to say, I didnt sleep a lot. I am now reading his sequel "World Without End". So far, not as good but still entertaining.
My favorite book of all time is the Josephine Bonaparte trilogy by Sandra Gulland. "The Many Lives and Secret Sorrows of Josephing B", "Tales of Passion, Tales of Woe", and "The Last Great Dance on Earth". The Author spent 10 years researching Josephine and the result is brilliant. It reads like a diary which was different but gripping. I have recommended it to all of my friends and each and every one of them has called me after to say that it was amazing and that they are in love with Josephine. Anywho, just thought I would reccomend it to you lovelies. Let me know if anyone reads it!!!!

Yeah he does. A coworker of mine went to the Undercover Course and he was a guest speaker there (the course is ran by ATF). Apparently since he's written the book, he's put himself and his family at risk. Now he has a protective detail with him almost 24/7 that I believe the ATF has to pay for. I keep wondering about the other ATF agents and cops that he mentions in the book. He kind of screwed them over for future undercover work and put them at risk as well.
Also - I purchased The Help this afternoon based on all the recommendations.
The Help sounds like a good read! I'll look for it in the library.
Right now, I'm "reading" cookbooks. I'm a recipe collector and I love to browse through cookbooks to find and try new recipes. Right now, I'm going through one that I'd actually like to buy. It's called "The Take-Out Menu Cookbook" by Carla Snyder and Meredith Deeds.
It's full of recipes for foods you'd order from your favorite take-out. Includes Thai, Mexican, Italian, Greek, French, Japanese, Jewish, and Spanish recipes. I want to try the Chicken Marsala, Eggplant Parmesean, Cannoli, and Chicken Satay. Yum!
