Girls' Weekend Getaway?

My cousin & I are trying to plan girls' weekends a few times a year since we're 5 hours apart and want to spend more time together. We'll have a small group, less than 10 i think but are trying to come up with some good destination ideas.

We're gonna do Roundtop in the fall. Thinking about Canton in the fall as well. Maybe Fredericksburg or Wimberly?? Any other ideas? Fun festivals, etc that would be good for a girls' weekend?? (unfortunately one attendee is only 18 so i think a wine centralized trip might be out cause she might feel left out).

ETA: Texas destinations or reasonable driving distance Smile

  • My boss has a girls weekend here every year.  She LOVES it.  I'm going to check it out one day.  http://www.juniperhillsfarm.com/default.htm

I'd also do something where you float the river!  Sooo fun with a bunch of girls!

  • We need a Nestie Float!

  • My mom's family does girls weekend all the time.  We've done Salado before and that's a lot of fun.

I think that is a great idea!
  • I went to Wimberley in October with several of my girlfriends, and we rented an awesome house off vrbo.  The house had an amazing deck, walking trails, and a hot tub, so we spent a lot of time hanging around the house.  We even cooked dinner a couple of nights in the kitchen--fun times!

We also spent most of a day wandering around the downtown Wimberley area, but honestly, I don't know if you would want to spend more than a day doing that.  There are other things to do in the Wimberley area, but you'd have to drive a little ways.  It's not too far from San Marcos, if you wanted to hit the Outlet Mall (for example).

  • We took a girls trip to Rusk not too long ago. Rode the train, did an animal safari...got attacked by a buffalo...we took my great grandmother and my 12 year old cousin. Plenty of fun for all ages!

If you go to Wimberly when it's good and hot out you should visit Blue Hole...It was gorgeous when we went last summer on our way home from a camping trip out at Enchanted Rock. And there's a rope swing! Here's a pic :-)
