A month ago she had an ear infection. The antibiotics did not clear it up. a couple of weeks ago she began taking a stronger round of antibiotics to clear it up and all seemed to be well.
A couple of days ago she started getting feverish and lethargic (new). Last night she fell asleep in my arms as soon as she got home, which is unusual. She felt very hot and had a temp of 102. I gave her some infant tylenol, as I have many times before, and she broke out in hives. We took her to the emergency room. By the time we got there, she was back to normal, if a little tired still.
This morning she was still hot and I gave her tylenol again. The hives returned and then went away after 15 minutes or so. Her fever went down, but she was sleepy and did not want to stand up (unusual). We sent her to daycare and she was sent home a couple of hours ago with 101.8. Jason picked her up and noticed that she had discharge from her ear again. He's taking her to urgent care as I write this.
Last time we went to urgent care, the doc mentioned her having a tube put in her ear to help prevent and drain infection. Oy.
Poor little thing. I am just so sad for her. She must be miserable, the little trooper.
Re: Please send some Novembie Vibes for Scarlett
awww..poor sweet little girl!
Vibes and prayers for Miss Scarlett! Prayers for her momma and daddy, too!
Darn ear infections! Hope Scarlett feels better ASAP!
Poor little girl. I hope she feels better soon!
My friend's two little boys had to have the tubes put in. It was amazing for them b/c it helped with their chronic infections. the younger boy was slightly delayed in talking b/c of his ear infections, but after the tubes, he seemed to catch up really fast.

Poor babe. Feel Better Scarlett!
Also, if it helps, Hunter's first two months in daycare were MISERABLE - but now we're finally past the "catch every little cold." My biggest tip for ear infections is to load up on coffee for yourself - I spent Hunter's last bout holding him upright in the recliner most of the night because he screamed when he was flat on his back. I'll be thinking of you!
Poor little boo . . . that sucks!
Who did she see in the urgent care? Theres one ped there that I love love love . . . almost as much as Dr. Wink.
Bebe and I are sending lots of love and get-better-vibes her way!
The one I'm thinking about had an odd name, was tall and really gentle. The tubes aren't too bad, just a bummer. My brother had them from a young age . . . until he got them in he really suffered a lot with his ears.
Poor little girl...But DON'T GIVE HER ANYMORE INFANT TYLENOL!!! There was a recall on it just recently...that may be causing the hives!
There was too much of the active ingredient in the tylenol! be careful and get that little girl better!
Poor little thing! T&P to her and to you/DH going through all of this!
Get better Miss Scarlett!
I also had tubes put in my ears when I was an infant, and had a lot of ear infections until I was about 10-12. I guess I grew out of them. Poor little Scarlett baby, please get well soon!
