Excuse me while I b***h and moan...

I HATE job searching!  I've been unemployed since right after Thanksgiving, and still nothing!  I applied for a handful of jobs before the wedding, but nothing panned out.  Since the wedding is over I've really been putting my efforts into finding something, but I always seem to be just one qualification short!!  I swear, if I had my MSW there would be about a million jobs I could be applying for.  I want to go back to school for it, but it would take about two years and I obviously can't go jobless for that long.  UGH!

I feel so guilty about not having a job because I know it puts pressure on DH.  He really hates his job right now and would like to switch jobs, but if something didn't work out then we'd be screwed.  I hate being at home everyday and feeling like the best that I can contribute to this household is making sure it is clean.  We're doing okay financially, but we're not able to save as much as we'd like and buying a house is definitely out of the question until I'm employed.

BLAH.  I know many people are un/under-employed for this long or longer, but it's frustrating!  I've never gone for this long before without working or being a student, so I'm starting to lose my mind.

I'm sorry, I know hard it is. I was lucky that I was unemployed for only 4 months. I found myself running out of things to clean around the house if that tells you how bored I was, lol. Something will come along, keep your chin up. =) Sending tons of job vibes to you and your hubby

  • *Hugs* Katie!! You know my email and phone number if you ever need to vent. :) I unfortunately can empathize, and all I can say is hang in there. It is really frustrating I know, but you'll get a great job soon, I just know it!

  • I guess I'm a bit luckier since I'm underemployed and not unemployed.  But I feel your pain, I've been job hunting pretty aggressively since Sept or so and still can't find something full time or that would pay me what I'm worth with my degree etc.
  • Thanks for the vibes and empathy girls.  All this week I've been job searching and I just got fed up, which resulted in my little vent.  :)  I'm starting to wonder if our place will ever be this clean and organized after I find a job!

Katie - I know our gtg hasn't made much headway, but we should definitely get together soon!  I want to hear about your new job over some drinks.

  • ::HUGS:: I'm sorry!  I can't imagine how frustrating this must be for you!  If you don't mind me asking what type of job are you looking for?  Could you try a part-time job until you find something you want?
