the most useless poll ever

I'm just wondering if I'm the only HI nestie who has bought some of those tube top sun dresses that they sell at ABC stores? You know the ones w/ flowers on them usually? I think they are 2 for $32. The ones that I would NEVER wear while in HI but back here in hot AZ they are my saving grace since they keep my cool and I don't have to wear a bra either. I kind of laugh when I see people wearing them in HI but back here many people don't know they are cheap-o dresses and I get complimented on them all the time.

So anyone else? If so do you wear yours often? How many do you have?

Re: the most useless poll ever

  • nope, but i live in hawaii.  i tend to stay away from abc stores in general...

  • I can NEVER not wear a bra, so no.  My challenge is finding cute, cool sundresses that allow a bra (no spaghetti straps).  But I might have if I could!  :)

  • I also could never get away with not wearing a bra - but I DO have one of those dresses, my sister and I each got one on our list trip just the 2 of us.  I just wear my over my swimsuits.

This reminds me of those brown plastic sandals (w/ 2 straps) that you buy at ABC.  Those were the all RAGE when I was in high school - every time I would go to HI my friends would want me to bring them some of those.  They are ugly!! (sorry if anyone really likes them...)  At least the cheap-o dresses are cute!!

Hahaha...I remember those!  They were popular on the mainland too?!  They were the rage when I was in highschool too.  We would wear them with socks!  So ugly....but I gave in to the fad!

  • I'm a 32DD... so, that sounds like a weird tube o' boob.

My favorite thing from ABC is the Island Girl nail polish. Love it! It stays on so much better than any other brand. I wish I could order it online.

  • Most definitely Julie! I know exactly the ones you are talking about.  Actually, at only ONE ABC in Waikiki I have found a plain black dress, no flowers on it just black and it's not the same material either, it's... not as shiny, hmm, hard to explain.  Those are my absolute favorite and I buy one every year except this year I couldn't find them anywhere... I wear it every morning when I get out of the shower and do my hair, etc.

  • I have 2.  :)  I confess though, I've never worn them after they made it back to the mainland.  But now that I've been reminded that I have them they will totally be my 'backyard wear'!
  • Hahaha... I have 3 of them.  I didn't pack properly (too much wedding stuff) when we went in 2008.  So I had to get a few since it was incredibly hot the time we were there.  I have blue, red and white/yellow.

I really liked them but found I had to be careful wearing them, since a gust of wind would just blow it right up! And who needs that?  LOL.

I also wore them when just after I had Ben.  They are so light and pretty.  We have nothing like them here in Toronto, so I can get away with it easy.
