I have a friend who recently left her husband. She's been seeing two guys - neither know about the other (one lives away from here, the other is local). Anyway, local guy took her and HIS daughter out to dinner this weekend. And when I said "That sounds serious" she said "No, it's not. I'm sure {daughter} doesn't remember me when I'm gone." The kid is 2, not 6 months old. I'm sure she DOES remember her. I'm also sure that local guy wouldn't have introduced him if he thought they weren't serious.
Re: Why are people stupid?
Hm. She just told me that she gave him a key to her place. And I said "Are you SURE this isn't serious? This sounds very serious to me." She said "No, it's casual." I asked if he knew that and she said "We've never discussed it being more." I then said "Don't you think giving him a key might give him the wrong idea?" All she said to that was "Oh..."
Yeah...people amaze me.
I'm not saying this will happen, but can you imagine if local guy decides to surprise her while out of town guy is visiting?
To be perfectly honest, I hope it does happen. She's playing with fire.
