Re: real estate agent

  • I don't have any recs, but I just wanted to say squee!  House hunting is fun.  :-)
  • John Doorn with Five Star on East Paris.

    His website is hisname.com :)

He was down to earth, personable, approachable, and insightful. Never pushy or aloof.

  • We really liked working with Mike Oostendorp with Keller Williams.  He was very professional and friendly.  Not pushy and handled it well after we look at 30 houses in Hudsinville area only to tell him we changed our mind and wanted to look in GR.
  • We LOVED Donna Anders.  She was awesome!!  Very friendly and professional, and without her we would have never gotten this house.

ETA: When we got possession of the house, we realized the sellers took a few things with them that were supposed to stay with the house.  One of which was a ceiling fan that my husband was in love with and excited about (He's a dork lol).  DH called the realtor just to let her know and see if anything could be done.  Basically it is our word against theirs and she called and he denied it, but then she told DH to find the one he wanted and e-mail her the link, that she would buy it for us as a house warming gift!  We declined because that is not her job, but it was a really nice gesture - one of the many wonderful things she did for us.

  • We really enjoyed working with Brian DeYoung when we bought our house 5 years ago. We met him in a house he was showing and he ended up helping us househunt and eventually finding the house we bought. We will use him in the future if and when we move :)
  • oops, I should add he was with Greenridge!

Very cool of your realtor, and very crappy of the sellers! Things that are attached to the house should stay in the house :(

Yup unless written into the contract.  And it doesn't sound like he wrote it in, so that fan should be yours.  Not cool.

Yeah this guy was a total jerk - he took special electrical outlets from the garage even, but when we called him out about it he said they were never there Huh? And the ceiling fan they replaced with a super old crappy one, like we wouldn't notice.

Oh, now that's *extra* lame! :(

  • Tami Vroma with 5 Star. LOVED her. She was so patient with us, and seriously walked us through close to 100 homes. Kind, caring, and just did an amazing job. Let me know if you'd like her contact info. Smile
  • We loved Donna Bahr.  She was at Greenridge when we used her, now she's at Keller Williams.

She's just a genuinely nice person, our personalities clicked, and she was super patient with us.
