Kenwood Kroger is closing

Re: Kenwood Kroger is closing

  • If they dont keep the permits valid (which is hard due to the existing conditions) its not going to be long before others close.

  • LA fitness is about dead, especially with Urban Active right up the road.  They're about to start demolition on the other parts of the building, but I don't know details.  The parking garage is downright scary in there, and if you noticed the floors aren't quite even in the store.  They've just about been shut down a few times due to building code violations (nothing like seeing the Mitchells people with hair in foils in the parking lot during a fire alarm).  I don't know that anyone will stay there long.
  • They're going to demolish part of the building? I guess it shouldn't surprise me since it's been only partially completed for a few years now, that can't been good for structural integrity.

    Such a waste of money.

  • They opened a Fresh Fare here in Dayton.  At first I was really excited but now it's just "eh."  Did Kroger loose 5 mil b/c of the litigation over the development or was it the store's performance?

ETA-just read the article, I was making my assumptions based on the Enquirer article.

  • Kroger doesnt own the building- they lost in in sales. They are not responsible for the building. Trust me if they were they would probably be all over that instead of trying to get anything out of Bear Creek.
  • there is not enough parking there for the shops and kroger anyway.  i mean, i think that parking garage was super shady anyway.  christmas was a nightmare with stores on both sides of that back drive.  i'm thankful if they clear that out so there is better space to park.

and they can move the container store up to Mason :)
