The dress

So, I posted this awhile ago... but I wanted to know if there had been any changes. Who is keeping their dress? Anyone selling it?

I had thought I wanted to sell it, but I'm really sentimental about it now... :( I don't know if I can part with it although we'd really like the monies.

Re: The dress

  • I'm keeping mine.  Maybe someday I'll make into something...a pillow, Christening gown for our first born, something like that.  I couldn't part with it though.
  • I'm keeping mine.  I'm still toying with the idea of doing a trash the dress session and now that it's gotten warmer out, that's getting more and more likely.

  • I kept it.  It's boxed and everything.  I think I'm keeping it just for the sake of keeping it, or maybe passing it down to my daughter (god willing) someday.

  • I kept mine.  Hanging up in our guestroom...I love it too much...
  • Still planning on selling, but am hanging on to it until I can afford to have extra pictures taken in it. Still can't believe that there is not a single shot of the whole dress or a shot of DH and I together while dressed up - hopefully we'll be able to give it another go with day (way!) after pics.
  • Keeping it.  It's still dirty and hanging in the spare closet.  Need to get it cleaned, boxed and preserved.

  • Keeping it. My friend and I may to a TTD session in October after her wedding. After that I will get it cleaned and boxed up!

  • I'm going to try to sell mine.  Now that I've worn it for 2 photo sessions it is quite filthy though, and missing a button Confused   But my mom said she can fix that, and if all of the dirt comes out of it then hopefully I'll find a buyer for it.  I bought it preworn from a former bride so now I'd like to pass the love along to another bride... after all, it is just a dress.  A very pretty dress, but just a dress.  Now that the wedding is over and after wearing it for the photo sessions, I realized it won't ever give me quite the same "feeling" as on the day of.  That's because it was all about the DAY, not necessarily the dress.  At least for me.
  • I donated mine to brides against breast cancer and will get to use it as a tax write-off. I loved my dress but I don't have space to store it and honestly doubt that any future daughters would want to wear it.
  • I am keeping mine but then I doubt anyone would want it as a wedding dress anyway since it was not your typical wedding dress. I still love it though and could never part with it.

  • I still have mine.  Right now it's on the extra room bed with all our coats because we don't have a closet and I haven't bought a trunk yet (that kills me!).  I'm keeping it... I got to wear my mom's dress for dress up a few times when I was little and in a fashion show in high school and that was so special to me.  I still don't know if we'll have kids, but if we do and we end up with a daughter, I'd love to let her do the same!
  • I want to sell mine but I still haven't gotten it cleaned yet.  It costs $250 to get it cleaned.  hopefully I get it done sometime before my first anniversary.

  • Donated it! It was pretty battered after a night in Vegas, and I really didn't see another use for it soo...I posted it on Freecycle, and the girl who came to get it used in a Dickens Christmas Fair. Honestly, just just held no sentimental value. Whit I found to be priceless were the vintage sunglasses. Happily, they're easier to store.
  • I'm keeping mine for no good reason.  I just can't imagine getting rid of it.
