About 5 years ago I bought flatware from Williams-Sonoma. I LOVE this set. It's lasted well, looked new and H thought it looked "manly" enough when we moved in together.
In an effort to save money and support more eco-friendly options, we chose to change our dishwasher detergent to Palmolive Eco. That 50 cent savings has now cost me replacement of my flatware.
In short, the flatware had black handles and now has speckled gray handles with rainbows on the stainless steel.
Palmolive customer service is sending me $6 to replace their product with the detergent of my choice. Gee. Thanks. Now I can go buy plastic replacements.
Williams-Sonoma, on the other hand, spent a half of an hour searching for a solution to my problem. After finding that my problem seems to be unique, they offered to replace my 5-year-old flatware even knowing how long I've had it. I couldn't believe it. I am so impressed with how much they are standing behind their product even when I admittedly did something to compromise the integrity.
End result: I will forever purchase long-term items from Williams-Sonoma.
Re: Williams-Sonoma / Palmolive Eco
What on Earth is in Palmolive Eco that it messed your set up like that?! Yeesh!
That was awesome what Williams-Sonoma did, though. That's how you keep your customers happy and coming back!
That's exactly what I'd like to know! Note to self... Don't buy that stuff!
I'm glad Williams-Sonoma is taking such awesome care of ya, though; that really is true customer service at it's finest!
