Need help deciding on mini-vaca

M has enough miles for 2 roundtrip tickets that we need to use on American within the next few months before we lose them. Easy right? Just pick a place and go!

But... We can't decide where we want to go! (It has to be within the Continental US) Any suggestions? We're pretty open to anything right now. It would be a really short trip, we'd leave (hopefully) on a Tuesday night, or first thing Wednesday morning, and come home late Thursday night. Any and all suggestions are welcomed! Thanks ladies : )

  • Maybe Seattle? I hear the weather there is really nice in the summer and it probably wouldn't be a long flight for you.

  • What do you like?  Wine country? Fun stuff like amusement park areas? Historical stuff?... Active stuff-biking/hiking?... If you're in So Cal... I'm not really sure where you go when you're from out there...

I'd love to go to Seattle!  Or Colorado again...

  • NYC was a blast - and we did it in 3 days.

Obviously we didn't see everything, but we stayed one night near Ground Zero and did battery Park stuff, a night in Times Square, and a night in the Upper West side near the park.

  • Williamsburg, Va. There's some historical stuff,  Bush Gardens and other touristy stuff to check out.

  • Portland, Oregon? I've always wanted to go there.
  • So you'd have all day Wednesday and Thursday morning?

I'd go "local" to maximize your time and only take direct flights.  San Francisco, Vegas, Phoenix, Denver...

  • I agree with Aria stay local.  What about hitting up Napa?
  • Last year we had a great trip to Redwoods, San Francisco and Napa Valley. I would recommend any of these places. We had a wonderful trip! We hiked in Redwoods and stayed in a nice cabin in the woods. Redwoods National Park is amazing! San Francisco was fun and we did lots of touristy stuff. In Napa Valley we stayed at a very nice villa on a mountain with a beautiful view. It even had a jacuzzi outside. We spent one day going to 5 wineries tasting wine and having picnics. We spent 3 days in each place and it was one of our best trips ever!
