So this morning started out like most any other morning. Played with the dog, and started my weekly routine of cleaning. As DH and I were folding laundry in the bedroom we hear this amazing ripping and tumbling sound. We look into the closet (it's a pretty large walk-in) and we see the shelf tearing away from the wall and landing in the middle of the floor.
His immediate reaction was "I told you to get rid of some of those clothes" and we laughed for about ten solid minutes. So much for heading to the beach today, I've been getting things organized to replace the shelf!
The best part...DH called my FIL and said we have a project tomorrow. So they are fixing it tomorrow and I'm leaving to head to do some field work for a few days, I'll come home and it should be nice and fixed!
I posted some pics on facebook if you guys are curious!

I've had that happen before! At first the noise is like WHAT THE...? I however was single at the time and had no hubby to fix it. Glad you could get a good laugh out of it.
H built a shelf in the garage right after I moved in so that we could have some additional pantry space. After a week it fell at 2am, spilling two gallons of paint on the garage carpet. I was bummed and up all night cleaning. He built a free-standing industrial strength shelving unit that holds 3 times as much and can support the weight of two adults in its place.
I wish H's side of the closet would have a quake. It's soooo messy and there's so much unneeded crap! I don't think he's going to wear the cracked leather jacket from 1989 or the acid washed jeans that are 3 sizes too small. I've been bugging him to clean it out and a quake would help expedite my request.
