Re: something must be in the water

  • For me 16 and pregnant always seems to do the trick.
  • My dog has an AWFUL case of the runs at the moment.  I mean, explosive, horrible, swollen booty bad. Its getting better, but the cleanup has been NON. STOP. We've had to use wipes, and have had to hose down her poor little tail and booty over and over.

It would happen so much more often with kids. The BIL laughed at us dealing with her last night.  You can come over and take her off our hands for a few hours. :P

  • hahaha... good idea!

  • want to borrow my two boys for a night?   :)  In fact, I'd let you borrow #3 as well if she weren't still in utero.

2 under 3 will wear you out.  especially since #2 STILL doesn't sleep through the night.  grrrr.

  • is it even worse that none of that (minus the dog issue) scares me?

     Huh?

  • I think it was Mrs.AJL who posted a site called Sh!t My Kids Ruined and yeah, that helped...

ETA: I'll do you one better by posting it here. Enjoy!

Link:  here.  As a childless person whose nephews are, uhh, "ruin-ers", I find that site hilarious!

  • Risa, I know how you feel! Two of my closest friends recently had babies, and two others are now pregnant. DH and I have our timeline, but I can't help but feel the pull a little too much lately. For me, the only things stopping me from ditching the pill right now are that I want one more big trip (tentatively planned for my 30th birthday in Sept) and my unstable work situation.  I'll have to check out that web site when I get home!
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • It's not a one person pity party...I'm right there with you. Embarrassed  However, none of our friends are to that point yet.  I thought that was making it harder for me (like, if I had someone else's baby to sit for or whatever it might help) but I guess it wouldn't.  So, no suggestions here but you're not alone!

  • I'm in a similar position (but people I went to high school with have 2 or 3 by now!!).  DH is the budget police and we've got another 18 months or so of savings before I get the green light to ttc.  It's hard, but I like said in the post before the savings goals are like a monthly challenge and I like winning!

I also try to remember I've got time on my side, and when it happens (in 2+ years) I probably won't be able to imagine having kids any earlier than I did.  Having DH on the same page as me with the whole ttc dates is important so I'm trying to stay sane with the whole idea.  He doesn't have a ticking uterus, though... Confused

  • Imagine what you could do with $570 a month instead of paying for childcare. A day at the Lake Austin Spa? A cheap weekend cruise? And keep in mind that I work part time and have it really good when it comes to my childcare arrangements! I used to pay $900 a month just for Abby when she was little.

shanwalk2 - You'll be SO glad you have that savings when the time comes! Having a baby is hard enough without worrying about money.

Thanks for the affirmations.  I know you can never have enough - but we're trying!  DH seems sure that we'll be unable to save anything once a baby comes so we're trying to save everything now.  (not sure how realistic is his...but he's 'all in' so i'm going with it)

My best friend is pregnant with her 3rd, and all of my other friends, are either pregnant or have one already. And not that Im saying I dont have time to 'wait' but DH and I are both 30, but there is no telling whats going to happen when we do decide to ttc, or better yet when it will be.

Im more at peace with it this morning, just didnt help yesterday when a friend called me yesterday with her blessed news!
