Decorating Poll/Question
So as you know, we got the Hawaiian Homestead! 
MH and I have been window shopping and discussing our ideas about decorating and furnishing the house, so here's one issue:
We didn't get to choose our appliances, flooring and cabinents in kitchen, or carpet. Thankfully, the carpet is a light-med beige color which we both like. The kitchen cabinents, however, are white and so are the appliances (dishwasher, stove, and microwave over the stove). Flooring in the kitchen is beige w/ some brown. We have to purchase our own refrigerator.
I'm just wondering if we could get away w/ a stainless steel refrigerator because the hardware on the cabinents are like a brushed stainless steel. I'm not sure if that would be okay or should we just stick with the white refrigerator. Price is not the concern as there is not too much of a difference for us.

This is the only reason I don't like stainless steel (I'm a super low maintenance kind of girl!) - I don't know if it matters to you?
That said, I think you could do either white or ss and it would look just fine - the white would tie in with the other appliances and the ss would tie in with the hardware. So my vote is to go with what you love!
I have ss & (while I have only been in my house 1 month) I haven't had any issues with keeping it clean. I personally like the look of SS so if it were my kitchen I would go with the SS & that way I could start transitioning all of my appliances to SS whenever $$ allowed for or wear&tear required new appliances.
I also have white cabinets & really love them (but I was able to pick them out). A lot of girls on the D&R board are always painting their cabinets. Maybe they could give you some tips if you want to change it up.

I have SS everything. It's a pain to clean but I knew that going in. The house already had brand new SS dishwasher and above range microwave and I wanted everything to match but probably would have selected SS anyways. Our house cleaner always got them sparkled and if you keep on top of it (wash once a week for fingerprints/wipe up any greasy prints or food spills right away) it's not so bad.
Like you my cabinets are white with silver hardware. If you do think you will transition to SS in the future then go with the fridge now - b/c if I remember right the fridge is the most expensive. And white with SS does look nice.
One thing to think about - will the fridge's sides show? I was limited b/c ours do and so I had to make sure the sides were grey (not black) b/c that would have looked bad.

i'm not sure what i would do..i'm a visual person so i'd kind of need pics of your kitchen to decide...but i know there are different kinds of SS and you can get the kind that doesn't get fingerprints as easily, just fyi
