I was reading the post about jobs.  You work in the construction industry reporting homeowner claims to carriers?  How does that work?

I work for a restoration company which mainly does homeowners insurance work (fire, floods, etc.) so I was just curious.

  • I work for a utility construction company so we do work for Edison, So Cal Gas and other companies like Verizon. We have all sorts of claims for example damaging peoples plants when accessing their backyard to change out an electrical pole or auto accidents. I report it to our insurance company and we have  an internal data base to keep up as well. Sometime we reimburse people directly. But no homeowners claims though.

Got it!  That makes sense.  I was confused because I thought it was in the same industry as me and I had no clue how you would report someone's claim.
