what do you let slide? Work is nuts for me right now (so I shouldn't be on the nest, but I just needed a small break
). Things are also busy at the farm because it's spring AND with SIL's wedding in a few weeks, the whole family is in crazy planning, organizing, helping mode too. We have MEGA work to do at our house in the next few weeks becuse we'll have wedding guests staying with us.
In a nutshell, I barely have time for cooking, laundry, personal time, etc during normal weeks, but the rest of May I'm thinking something's got to give. I think we'll be doing a bit of ordering in instead of cooking, but what are some other tips to help save time and be efficient?
P.S. I'm not really going as crazy as I sound:) Just needed a breather!
Re: When you are crazy busy...
well you have one advantage over me, in that I live in an apartment so I can only do laundry during waking hours (and have to wait for machines to be free...) You could always throw your laundry in the wash over night, throw it in the dryer when you wake up and have it ready for before you leave the house, that might save sometime.
I slack on the dishes when I'm that busy, glad that we have a dishwasher that can take care of most of them..
ordering in is one idea too
or calling in sick to work one day to get caught up on all the stuff...
Thanks ladies:) I should clarify, I haven't really given up on cooking, cleaning entirely- just been more lax than usual and feel that I don't have enough personal time. But, don't we all feel like that sometimes?
Part of what's making me crazy is work, so things would definitely be worse if I took an unscheduled day off, as I would just get more behind.
Basically, I think I just needed to realize that it's okay to have a messy house sometimes and feel behind, because life gets busy. I can't be the only one, right? Thank you
I hear ya, we have been super busy as well. my only saving grace has been the wknds when i'm off work- MH is OOT so i have the house to myself to get caugh.
I cooked dinner this morning..yah.... I got my hair done last night so i didn't get home till late, we got wings froma pizza place which meant no left overs for lunch today.. we had pb&j yesterday and ididn't want to have that again... so i made a big pot of goulash and we are having that for lunch & dinner.. i felt like a nut cooking lunch/dinner @ 6am, but its done & now i have time to run & do other things that need to get done after work.
i have no tips just that i can totally relate.
Thanks!! I needed to hear this; I love that you cooked lunch/supper at 6am:)
I actually cooked dinner in the morning quite a few times when my hours were totally nuts here at work. I would make crock pot meals.. so i'd throw everything in the morning then it'd be good to go when I got home.. it was pretty nice.. pretty much the only way we kept from eating out alot, and i'm not a fan of eating out. ick.
my laundry is always out of control, and we dont have a dishwasher, so the dishes are usually pretty gross to.. =/
