f/u to NYC GTG

Okay! So it looks like Carrie, Gerrie, Jill, Terri, Marissa and Pammy- in addition to myself- would be game!

   So let's talk detes!

1) When works for you?

2) DHs? Kiddies? Yes/No?

3) What type of activity would you like?

Re: f/u to NYC GTG

  • If the date just so happens to fall on my one weekend off this summer, I'd seriously consider flying out for the day.  Especially if you're meeting in Manhattan.

  • I am free most Saturdays except for June 4th. I would think maybe lunch and then maybe some tourists stuff
  •   1) When works for you?        We have some free time still this summer, so I am fairly flexible. 2) DHs? Kiddies? Yes/No?       I would imagine that Michael would not come, but Liam might, depending on what we choose to do.  If we went to a Met Game, Michael MIGHT be more inclined... 3) What type of activity would you like?          Well if we are going to include kiddies- maybe the Central Park Zoo or Bronx Zoo?          If not, I'd love to check out the new ballparks in NY (yes, even Yankee Stadium- b/c it looks beautiful!). We could get a nice meal at one of the restaurants and watch a game. Or a fab midtown eatery & shopping- or a show. I don't know what you all would prefer.        I just checked the baseball schedules... Yankees- 7/3 home vs.Toronto @1:057/17 home vs. Tampa @4:107/24 home vs. Kansas City @1:058/7 home vs. BOSTON (Gerrie!) @4:05 (probably can't get tix)8/21 home vs. Seattle @1:05 Mets-  7/10 home vs. ATL @4:05(Mets have a bunch of Sunday day games- I don't know if people want to do a Sunday though...?)

I can do the last 3 weekends in July and any weekend in August. Before that is a no go unless its a Friday. I have off every Friday from June 25 through August 13th.

I dont think DH would come up. Hes not a big fan of NYC. But I think we should bring the boys. Yay! We all have boys! Well, as of right now. Come on Terri! Round out the North East Boys!

There is only 1 thing Chase will insist on doing and thats the Statue of Liberty. He has been begging for it for years.

Chase and I will more than likely be coming up by train because I dont feel comfortable driving all the way to the city and driving in the city alone with Chase. Plus it will be much cheaper.

  • Jill- I will be doing the train also so maybe we can meet up and go together with Gerrie is she can come too.

Terri, that sounds perfect. Safety in numbers. I would feel so much better traveling up there with you guys than alone with Chase. Please dont mind the way my kid is dressed though. Im sure he will be wearing a rediculously loud shirt. Im terrified of loosing him somewhere so when we go to places with big crowds I make him wear something that stands out so if we get seperated I can find him easily. Plus Im getting him dog tags with all my important info in case he gets lost. Good thing he still likes to hold my hand.

Also, Im going to have to veto the baseball games. My child will embarass me. NY sports teams do not sit well in our house. Besides I may be in divorce court shortly there after.
  • I'm not sure when my sister plans on having my nieces bday party but other than that we are free most every weekend (except for July 11th i have a bridal shower to go to) Serg probably wouldn't want to come and I'd also take the train into Penn Station bc I dont drive in NYC. I'm down for anything as long as it's not too much money :)

Unless of course you decide on a Mets game (GO YANKEES!) :oP

    1) When works for you? I'll be in LI June 24-27 for a baseball tournament so ya know, I'll be more than happy to skip out on a game to play during the day haha. July 2-12 I'll be in NC then in GA so those won't work. But I don't want to be the reason no one goes so if those dates work best then go for it.

    2) DHs? Kiddies? Yes/No? Depends on when we go. Starting the 2nd weekend in June I lose DH every weekend until August, but I'm cool either way.

    3) What type of activity would you like?  I love NY. There's so much to do that I'm sure we'd find something and I'm pretty much up for anything....well, I'd like to skip a ball game though cause that can get pricey but I wouldn't mind going to see the new stadium

Sorry! The comment was made in a totally sarcatic tone. DH is very anti NY sports teams, and I would get a bunch of sh!t if I went to a game in NY unless they were playing the Phillies, which would never happen again until they go head to head in the World Series again.

Dont you worry Christina. Our relationship is more solid and happier now than it ever has been in the last 5 years. We are doing just wonderfully.

  • I don't know where my post went :-( I vote for no baseball. I am a true hater and don't want to give any of my hard-earned to the evil empire.

I am up for whateva. I am so happy about this.

  • I think the Central Park Zoo could be a lot of fun.  I've actually never been.

Since I live here we can use my place as a central point to meet and leave things if people don't want to lug around bags or babygear or whatever.

Matt will most likely not be joining us.
