moving boxes needed

where can i buy them for a reasonable cost?

Normally i would hound grocery stores and whatnot but we dont really have any near us here.

Thanks!!

Re: moving boxes needed

  • Are there ANY stores near you?  Many will buy in bulk or get their shipments in boxes, so it doesn't necessarily have to be a grocery store.  Just an idea.

But I have also gotten boxes from Uhaul/Enterprise places.  Check online to see your nearest location--even if it's not a storefront that you would consider "normal" for a shipping place, they may have them--you could always call ahead to see.  I've found the most expensive place to buy them are actual shipping/UPS/Fedex stores.  Granted, you know they'll be sturdy and they'll have it all at one place(peanuts or bubble wrap if you need it) packing tape, etc etc.

  • I ordered boxes from uhaul and they are reasonably priced and if you can't pick them up at a local uhaul place then they will ship them to you. They are good sturdy boxes and they even have specialty boxes for various things. Hope this helps!
  • I have a walmart about 20 mins away i can try.

thanks for the tip about uhaul... i didnt check yet but wasnt sure if it would even be worth looking into.

  • check craigslist.  people are usually giving them away for free or selling them really cheap.  I have a bunch, but i already promised them to someone at work.
  • I got some of my paid boxes at Staples.  I don't remember them being too expensive.

If  mamaofmoose doesn't need the rest of the boxes I have left, you are welcome to them.  Jenna got most of them though.

    ooo thanks!!!

  • We got all of our boxes off of Craigslist or from Bif's office.  I'd give them to you but I'm in CLT.
  • IDK when you guys need them, but I'll be done with Beths at the middle of next month.

Also check at your school.  Copy paper boxes make awesome moving boxes.  Very sturdy and have lids.  I used a lot of those when I moved.
  • There's gotta be a ABC store near by right? They tend to have good boxes with dividers in them.  Good luck packing!

office has them on dibs...no one can take them. it stinks.

  • Bookstores are another good place.  When we moved from OK to TX, DH got a bunch dumpster diving in the cardboard recycling dumpster at Borders.  They were awesome because for the most part they were all the same size.  So, if you're going somewhere near a big bookstore, you might try there.  Or, if you end up going to Wal-Mart, see if you can get the ones that magazines or books are shipped in.

actually jenna this may work out too. We would probably want the majority of the boxes right around then. I cant see us doing much packing until school lets out. Save em for us k? we can arrange a pickup...maybe we can meet for dinner or something and do a date night at the same time.

  • Costco used to selling a moving boxes kit, not sure if they still do. Good luck finding boxes for free/cheap.
