ARRGGHH my mother

My mom complained about me to my sister.  DH and I just bought a new TV, something we've wanted for 3 years and we bought it with our tax return, and my mom is upset not because we spent money on a TV but because we are not saving for a baby.  Of course she would never tell me how she feels.  grrrrrr

    I'd simply tell her that she can save her tax check for HER to have herself a baby and say it kind of jokingly but serious enough that she lays off.

    You both work hard & deserve to be able to buy something once in awhile. The money you spent maybe would pay for a month of daycare. I would confront her & ask why she didn't have the balls to say it to your face.

    I love my mom but she has been very negative about everything lately.  I think it is partially that she is turning 60 this summer, she lives alone, and she is stuck in a horrible job.  She complains to me about my sister and brother, she complains to my sister about my brother and me.  The funny thing is that Jay and I have been going over our budget and we have talked about me going off BCP in Sept/Oct.  We just don't want to tell our parents that we are trying to get pregnant just in case it takes a long time.
