Wow....so a friend of mine at grad school has talked me into hitting the gym hard this summer. Our school's health complex has classes, one of which is called Beach Body Blast and is basically a modified P90X type body confusion. OMG....we did it Monday and Wednesday with Zumba on Tuesday. And today she wants to do Turbokick (a high intensity kick boxing). I'm dying. haha. I'm not super sore, but my body is just gettting its butt kicked since I haven't worked out since the wedding.
Anyone else getting back into working out? What are you doing?
Re: Workouts
Sounds like something I need to do! Since the wedding, I've gained about 10-15lbs! I hate it! Me and girlfriend of mine were going to the gym about 3 times a week, but since my husbands work vehicle crapped out on us, I've been the one stuck without any transportation, so for now, no gym.
I do have the Jillian Michael's DVD's and I might start doing those again. Not sure yet. I'm one of those types of people that I need someone to workout with, otherwise I'll never do it..LOL.
I'll be honest. I have incredibly low motivation to workout. I was sick (read: not leaving the couch) for most of April and the first week of May. It seemed like as soon as I was over one thing, another got caught in my immune system. I even got a flu and swine flu shot this year! I'm finally able to get around the house, but not quite ready to leave for more than 20 minutes at a time.
I tried to go for a long walk on Tuesday, but was unable to leave the vicinity of our restroom. I'm now taking a medicine that has a known side effect of emergency restroom trips. If it wasn't a med that was to help us start a family, I would have ditched it after the first three days. I've heard from other people that the side effects decrease with time. I'm hoping they are right.
So once I can, I want to start back to at least walking. I live a half block from the beach with a wonderful trail and can take my dog too. I wish I had a friend or two in my area that would go with me to help with the motivation.
Ya, I definitely gained about 10 pounds after the wedding I think it was our HM and the cruise food! I finally got back into working out last week, I am fortunate in that my work will pay for Fitness classes. Here is my class schedule:
Mon- Functional Strength Tues- Define Wed- Zumba Thurs- Engage
I work out at home on Saturdays, Fri & Sun are off days. I plan on getting the Zumba DVDs as well for some extra cardio at home and it is so fun!
