Tough days ahead

We knew it was coming, but it doesn't make dealing with it any easier. MH's grandmother passed away yesterday afternoon. She was 91 years old (had just celebrated her birthday last Thursday). This really is a situation where she is better off as her health had been failing for over a year. In the last month she'd been telling all those who visited that she was ready to go. Today we will make the final arrangements and I imagine that we'll do the viewing and funeral on Sunday and Monday. MH finds all of this quite surreal, so I just hope things set in with him soon. There really is no purpose in this post other than I just needed somewhere to write it down.

just because it was expected doesn't make it stink any less. Thoughts, prayers, and hugs to you and your family as you work through all the funeral arrangement and disbursing her property, etc. That can be so rough.
