We lost a friend tonight
Our poor kitty Jericho passed away a couple of hours ago. He suddenly slipped into cardiac arrest and within a couple of minutes, he stopped breathing. We took him right to the vet, but there was nothing they could do. He wasn't yet two years old. The vet said it wasn't uncommon for cats like him to have undetected heart conditions and that's what probably caused his untimely demise.
Jericho had an enormous personality; energetic, frisky, and very affectionate. Our household will seem very empty without him. DH and I are still in shock with his passing. He will be sorely missed

Oh NO! {{{{hugs}}}} I can't even imagine, I would be a wreck if that happened to my kitty. I am so so so sorry!!!
What did your vet mean by "cats like him"?
Thank you ladies. I really appreciate the kind words.
Katie - I was a little distraught and wasn't entirely sure, but I believe she meant young male cats of his size (he was about 12lbs) whose family history you don't know. We took him in from a friend who couldn't keep him, so we have no idea what his family was like. I have no idea what kind of testing a vet would do to detect this kind of thing early.
