Tell me I'm not nuts - possibly TMI...

I had some issues with my BCP percsription a couple months ago, I had trouble getting it refilled so I went a couple months off of it. I finally got it resolved and got a new RX, but a different brand. This is my second month on it. last month I had soe spotting/bleeding and same thing this week. I've never had this happen and I've taken BCP for years. I *know* it's normal, but I just need someone else to tell me that :)

I'm seriously paranoid with things, so I'm worried there's something wrong with me.This makes me just want to quit BCP, but I don't need another kid anytime soon!

  • I'm sure your body is just adjusting to the pill.  I would probably go another month and if the same thing happens maybe you can get a prescription for another brand.

    Ditto  :-)

Your body changes and even if you are on a pill you were on years ago, you could still react differently to it.  If it lasts for 3 months or more then I would talk to the OB and get it switched to another brand (I had to do this myself).

  • Ditto everyone else. And I agree with Lori, if it continues to happen you should talk to your OB about it.

Agree with the others.  If it persists talk to your OB.  If it bothers you a lot right now call and make an appointment.  I was bleeding every other week for awhile and went to the OB to get a better understanding of why this was happening.  It made me feel so much better talking to her.

  • I'd call the OB and ask for a different rx.  The combo of hormones in this rx may not be a good match with your body.
