Ultrasound

I figured I wouldn't hog the Shred thread (hey, that rhymes!) to update you. I had a complete abdominal ultrasound today, I don't think they left a stone unturned. Anyways, I'll hopefully hear the results (if any) tomorrow, but there were a couple spots where when she put more pressure on, it really hurt. So any positive vibes would be appreciated!

And hopefully next time I have to do one of those, it'll be for a baby! Not my idea of a fun morning.

Re: Ultrasound

  • my heart skipped a beat when I read the title because I thought maybe you were preggers!

Hopefully you get the results back and everything is ok. If it is cysts, how do they take care of that?

  • oh babe...its not very fun is it!!!! Sending you Aussie Preggers Vibes....

Musgral: i have had a lot of ovarian cysts (last time they stopped counting at 24 on one ovary) there are differnt types mine were "functional" and just have clear liquid they pop usually by themself and usually come around when you have your period....they do ach and are painful when they pop usually when i sneeze or stretch in bed, and make you feel a bit sick when they pop....over here though they wont do anything unless they are 5cm, the biggest i got was 3cm. Hence this is a reason we were so shocked we fell pregnant so easily! I have recently started getting them in my left breast also, which puts me at a higher risk for breast cancer :(

  • Oh my, Sandra! I didn't know you could get them like that. Maybe that explains the pains, because it usually happens if I twist or roll over and strain my abdomen. Well, we'll see. I'm just hoping and praying it's nothing serious. I don't know how they treat cysts here, I guess it depends on the size and location.

Musgral, I'm sorry I scared you! Trust me, when that happens the subject will be "BABY!"

  • Vibes for you.  I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, which means my ovaries, when I'm not on the pill, are covered completely in cysts.  Sometimes they can get big and pop, which causes a lot of pain.  This has only happened to me once.  Sometimes ovarian cysts have to be surgically removed, I had a friend once who had to have that done.  I'm not saying that's what's going on with you, but sometimes it happens.

Sending you lots of healthy vibes.
