Today:  I have a second interview for that job at that AMAZING place I was talking about.  Eeep!  Then maybe H and I will go out to dinner.

Tomorrow: working all day (boo!) and then...?

Sunday: brunch with some of my former coworkers.  Should be fun!

  • Friday, finally!! Seemed like a long week.

Tonight: One of my bridesmaids is coming over to celebrate surviving the spring semester. There will be drinks and relaxing in the hot tub is what's planned.

Tomorrow: H and I are going to an arcade auction (we collect pinball machines and jukeboxes). They happen a couple times a year and this is the first time in awhile that I get to go and not staying home doing school work. The evening is up in air yet. Probably making dinner and vegging around the house.

Sunday: H and I are going to a local Beer Fest. It is at the county fairgrounds and outdoors. It's going to be gorgeous weather wise and can't wait to get my lips on some Rock Hard Red and Lemon Drop beers. They are soooo yummy.Beer

--- Noron, good luck with the interview. You deserve that job!

Today - I kind of feel like lying around and doing nothing. I woke up to a downpour and went running in it, now I have to get the motivation to shred. bah. I need to run some errands and get graduation cards and a sympathy card. DH's great aunt passed yesterday. Hopefully going to make quinoa stuffed bell peppers tonight for dinner.

Tomorrow: Going to a used bike shop to get road bikes for DH and myself so we can stop driving everywhere. Going to see the travel agent about booking our honeymoon, installing rosetta stone on my computer so I can start brushing up on my French. I wanted to go to the Atlanta botanical gardens but DH is playing poker with his buddies from work.

Sunday: Church then sunday school, then who knows. Maybe take our bikes for a test run, or go put our kayaks in the oconee river.
  • Let's see this weekend...Well first it's about time it's Friday!!!!

Tonight- The DH and I might go see a movie, but it depends on how we both feel after work.

Tomorrow- We are driving up north for my cousin's wedding!!! So happy for her, she's borrowing my veil.

Sunday- We are going to church, then driving down to Ventura, about 2 hours from home, to see my DH's aunt and uncle who are in from Michigan for the week.

It's going to be a long weekend of driving, but so worth it.

  • Today:  Cooking dinner.  I kind of want to see MacGrubber but I don't know if we'll have time.  I have to run a couple errands because...

Saturday: DISNEY!  Leaving here around 11a and it's a 3 hour drive.  Hoping to be all settled in by 3 so we can fit THREE parks in.

Sunday: Two parks.  Then coming home.  Found out too late that his schedule allows us to stay thru Monday.  But we thought we could only do one night so we splurged on the Contemporary and now can't afford the second night.  Nerds!

  • ooooh Panda have fun! I've been trying to talk DH into doing the day of service so we can get Disney passes free. For us it's like an 8 hour drive though, so we'd need a long weekend to even do one park.

Sunday: Church then sunday school, then who knows. Maybe take our bikes for a test run, or go put our kayaks in the oconee river.

we have kayaks too! DH is much more skilled than I am..but I'm learning haha.

Tonight: I'm relaxing at home by myself. DH is doing a road relay race from Yale to Harvard (there are 12 runners, and they each have 3 legs to run), so he left this morning. I'm shredding, cleaning, laundry, and cooking myself some lemon tuna pasta and enjoying some wine while I catch up on my bravo shows.

Tomorrow: possibly shredding if I get up super early because I'm leaving at 7am to head up to MA to volunteer for the relay that DH is running in. After that, the whole crew of us are going to dinner, and we're staying in a hotel! yay!

Sunday: heading back down to CT.

I think my kayak is one of my favorite purchases ever, we use them all the time! I want to get a little play boat and skirt and take a few classes on rolling so I can do a little white water :)

Go Melko's DH! How far do they each have to run?! I love supporting my DH when he does stuff like that because I feel like I married a stud lol.

Ah, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that promotion is over.  They had allotted so many tickets for that and they ran out by end of January, early February!

Wow, scratch that idea then. I doubt it would have happened anyway :(

  • Musgral: all of the legs are different..some are 3 miles..others are 7.

DH has the hardest group of legs..and he's running a total of 20.1 miles!!

  • Not a lot going on this weekend. Just relaxing and enjoying time with MH. We are going to be making some speciality margaritas this weekend, so thats exciting. We have not yet decided on which ones. Other than that we are buying a patio set, watching some movies and enjoying the weekend!  Most of all I am just happy to not be sick, I spent all last weekend with a fever and feeling crappy and then of course I got MH sick. We are both feeling better now. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

  • Kayak girls: Is it worth saving up for one? We're moving to Upstate NY in Oct/Nov. We love canoeing, hiking, biking, etc and will be about 20 miles from the Lakes. Is kayaking much different from canoeing? Should we buy one? lol

I actually hate to canoe. Kayaking, to me, is totally different. From the way that you sit, to the level you are to the water, and just the fact that you are on your own. I absolutely love it.

I would take a look on craigslist for a used one if you're not sure, you can probably get a good deal on one.

Totally different than canoeing. Canoeing hurts my back and kayaking doesn't because of the support, it also works different arm muscles, and surprisingly leg muscles because you brace on the footpegs. It's more of a whole body stroke. I have an Old Town Loon 12' rec kayak and LOVE it, but we paid $500+ for it (I can't remember the exact price).

I think it depends on how much you think you would use it. Also, a lot of stores that sell them (not BassPro, Walmart, etc., but individual retailers) are located near bodies of water, and will let you test as many as you want. We had to pay $50 bucks to test them, but I think we paddled 5-6 kayaks apiece, and then the $50 got deducted from our purchase. If you have an idea of what you're looking for, definitely check craigslist. Also, watch out for ones that are "bottom of the line" because they'll skimp on seat padding and won't have footpegs, and if you plan on being out in them for a few hours, you'll want both of those things. My rec is to take test paddles!

You won't be able to use it until May!  Maybe you can get one on clearance during the winter, though.
