Another weird name spelling!!
One of my "at risk" kids (for lack of a better term) tonight at court was named Kortnee.
Assuming Courtney was the attempt at the original.
Is this a trend that I have missed over the years but why am I seeing these crazy spellings now? It wasn't like this when I was a kid.

Re: Another weird name spelling!!
Oh dear. That's just...bad.
Confession: whenever I see someone with a name "creatively" spelled like that, I automatically deduct about 10 IQ points and a bushel of class from my impression of them. I know it's bad and a rose by any other name, blah blah blah, but I do it anyway.
Lisa, I do the same exact thing. Then thoughts start running through my head about their upbringing, their parents, their intellect, etc..........its bad. I'm working on my judgment of others!
I love Hawaii!

LOL! That gave me a good chuckle. Its pretty sad when people ask me how to spell my name. S-A-R-A-H. You wouldn't believe how many times people think it goes like this, S-H-A-R-A. Right away I know they never opened up the bible or sat in on some Sunday School. Sarah is still a very common name and for those of us over 30, it was at one point, the most common name. So ummm........I find it weird when someone asks me how to spell it. I usually start with, "It ends with an H." I just assume they want to know if its Sara or Sarah. But then I get this weird look and its evident they clearly can't start the spelling.
That's funny!
I actually went to school with a girl named Kortni. At the time I thought it was weird because everyone else around me had normal names. For the record: I still think it's weird.

People have tried to spell my name Leesa before. Um, really?
Lisa was one of the most common names when I was in school (there were always like 5 of us in a class), and it never occurred to me that people would misspell it, but it happens! Maybe I'll change the spelling to Leesah...
I have been asked quite a few times how I spell my name.
"Uh, it's T.I.N.A."
Without the periods.
