WOW

I just got off the phone with one of my friends she teachs middle school at a pretty weathly school. She said she walked in the bathroom around lunchtime and caught 2 sixth graders having sex! My friend freaked out and told the principal. Since today was the last day my friend was not sure what was going to happen to the kids. Can you imagine walking in on that. WOW!!!

Who let the dawgs out? image

that's what scares me! i've heard from one of my teachers that taught me in hs that kids now are SO  much worse and were nothing like we were (i graduated 8 years ago). and i knew of 6 or 7 girls when I was in 7th grade (they were 12 or 13) that were having sex....how can it get worse?? eek!

hearing stories like this and the suicides from bullying make me want to home school more and more....

    Definitely.

I have been SERIOUSLY contemplating this.  Not to mention the teaching for test scores only then nothing after the test, the number of students per teacher, the food they are cooking (thank you food revolution for putting THAT fear in my head) and taking away anything that has to do with God.  Oh, and the school that Chase will be going to still paddles as punishment.  No one will ever lay a hand on my child.  They had better call me and let me discipline the way I see fit!!!

  • also, schools in my area won't even let kids fail a test. if they score below a B(!) they make them keep retaking until they get a B or higher. WTF!?! how will that teach my child how things are in the real world!

not to mention that my nephew is in kindergarten and has already turned into a meanie. he was seriously the sweetest little boy you ever met until a few months in school. his mom got called in the other day b/c he punched a girl in the stomach! sorry..but i want to control what influences my child not send him or her into a pit of hoodlums. lol

  • i remember in 7th grade a new girl in our school always talking about how much better sex was while "on the rag" - GROSS!!

i cant even imagine THAT YOUNG!!! but unfortunately it's nothing new since i was in 7th grade almost 15 years ago.

There is NO WAY I could work at those schools!  I have no problem failing students on tests, esp. since I always give out a very detailed review and we do some type of review activity in class.  They have to put in the effort of actually studying!

  • That is SO scary! That is the very reason I've always felt led to homeschool my children if it's a feasible option.
