Here I am! Stupid work was getting in the way of my precious nesting.
So, dinner. Let me go ahead and sum up the evening: if he was waiting to tell me ILY in person, he is still waiting.
He took me to one of my favorite comfort food spots, since I told him it had been a long day. (I'm pretty sure there's crack in the HP Fries Sauce!) He was extra nice to me with all the compliments and good hugs. He told me he had a surprise for me--a couple of days prior he'd bought us day passes to each day of the ACL Fest. He went on and on about how glad he was we found time to get together that evening, how great it was to be spending time with me, yadda yadda yadda, and generally acted like being with me was the greatest time of his life.
And while I enjoy the extra attention (esp. the extra special attention), I apparently am going to have to flat out ask him What the What?! the next time we're together. I don't necessarily need to hear those words from him, but I need to hear some!

Maybe all the extra attentiveness was his way of saying "I'm not there yet where I can say the words out loud, but I'm really loving being with you and I hope that's okay and good enough for the time being."
Though, really, if that's what he meant by all that, he should still come out and say it. A girl's gotta know where she stands.

eeeeek! I want to slap him upside the head, but at the same time, at least he didn't freak out and back off. sounds like he's almost there, but maybe not quite yet.
