Canada Nesties
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
I have a 6 month old and only 2 mommy friends

I really wish I had more people to hang out with but I haven't had much luck finding people in my crappy town!! How did you find your mom groups?

Re: Mom groups?
I still haven't found any, but have you checked meetup.com? Or searched for groups on Facebook? Maybe the bulletin board at your public library?
Good luck! I know being a mom can be very lonely sometimes.
What about taking some Mommy/baby classes? We've done yoga, exercise, swimming and baby sign and have met some people that way. Look at your local Parks & Rec or library to see what they have.
Also, I don't know about AB, but in ON they have Early Years centres where you can bring LO to play/do crafts/listen to stories or participate to parenting sessions.
If you BF, you could also try La Leche League meetings. The Public Health Unit in your area may have parenting groups as well.
Good ones. I was focusing on the "group" part of your question. I take mom and baby classes (music, swimming, aquafit) through the community centres, but I haven't managed to make any friends yet.
