Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

for the amazing advice and words of support/encouragement about the situation with my Mom (and sorry about the DD but I didn't want this hanging out on the internet). I love you ladies even more than before.

Update: After a harrowing night where both DH and I were crying and stressed about the situation, the next morning put everything a little more in perspective. We decided to have a discussion with my Mom and offer the hotel option, but before we did that, she apologized profusely to both of us for her words and behavior, complimented our parenting skills, and offered to leave if we wanted her to. She was obviously sincere and willing to change her behavior, offering to give us more space by going out more during the day when she wasn't cooking/cleaning, so we decided that we could test it out for a couple more days with her here and then get a hotel for her if it wasn't working. Yesterday worked out well, with the only issue being her "wanting to help" when Alex wasn't latching on immediately. I simply asked her to leave because her hovering was stressing me out and she did. We'll see if it keeps up. It's nice to know the hotel option is still in our back pocket though.
