How was your weekend?

We had my parents visit until this morning; it was great! Especially the amazing weather. DH's parents live on a lake so we all went over there on Saturday and took their boat out for a while. Do you think summer is finally here to stay?

I had a great weekend. Cleaned our house from top to bottom on Saturday (I LOVE a clean house) and packed for Vegas on Sunday. Got SO much done, and hardly left the house at all. Spent tons of time with T too. And this week should be a breeze to get through since we got so much done over the weekend. Smile

It was great! We did Relay for Life on Friday which was a cool experience. We had a tour of Founders by the owner - that was a lot of fun. Between Thursday and Saturday we actually managed to visit 4 breweries. We went out for a friends birthday on Saturday night and we closed the bars down - I felt like I was in college again. Not to mention we got Georgio's pizza afterwards, just like at MSU. :-)

Sunday was gorgeous - we hung out with the dogs and brewed beer most of the day. LOVE this weather, but we had to hose Toby down every 2 hours to keep him cool.

Overall I had a great weekend!

Friday DH and I went up to Mackinac Island. We did a lot of biking and really enjoyed ourselves. We also had a lot of fun at the bar that night.

Saturday we were hung over, so we didn't spend much time on the island before leaving. My class reunion lived down to all my expectations. But I'm glad I went.

We got home around 4 yesterday. I had done all of my laundry and the dishes before leaving. It was nice to only do some light grocery shopping when I got home.

The only dissapointment to the weekend was that I didn't get to enjoy the really nice weather yesterday. But I have plans for this week to remedy that!

Weekend was ok. I worked almost a full day on Saturday, and then did laundry, made dinner and vegged. Sunday was full of more laundry, cleaning and organizing the house. I went out to Home Depot and bought the tile for our shower, and hit up the library for a few books. It was miserable in the house until after 5:00. We didn't want to turn on the air because Nick and I were in and out of the house constantly with stuff for the bathroom remodel and cleaning. I finally convinced him to turn it on after dinner, and after that it was comfortable.

How were the gift bags?

AWESOME! Here's a pic of the reusable tote that we received. It collapses down. We also got another reusable bag, good life granola (full size bag), a spot stick thing from Bissel, several coupons, lots of chocolate from local chocolatiers, an Eco bottle, and other stuff.

Saturday was my Birthday! I had lunch with my BFF from High School and then hung out with my SIL and watched the last few episodes of season 3 of "The Tudos". SS was with DH's Dad for the weekend so DH & I went to San Chez for Dinner and Drinks. Food was great service was not. DH got me the keyboard stand for the ipad as a gift and also a controler for the Wii so it is easier to play the classic games. Sunday I went to the gym and I can feel it today. Put the A/c unit in the window and turned it on so it's managable in the house now. I'm thinking that if the weather people are right and it's going to be a hot hot summer we are going to have to upgrade are unit to a bigger BTU.

On Saturday I went to the farmer's market and bought rhubarb and also tomato, cucumber, and basil plants. Then I baked a cherry rhubarb pie and some rhubarb bread. And then I planted my plants in my little container garden. Saturday night we stayed in and watched Up in the Air (good movie.)

Sunday morning we vegged out (first time I've gotten to sleep in in weeks -- it was awesome!) and then went for a nice bike ride. Pretty quiet remainder of the day, although we watched the Lost season finale event from 7:00-11:30 last night (that was the big event of our weekend).

Mine was pretty good - went to Grand Haven with friends yesterday to see the kite festival, and took Ben in the (freezing cold) lake. He had a blast and was so well behaved considering how hot and humid it was.

I love rhubarb, but have not tried rhubarb bread. What is it like? Is it a dessert? Do you eat it plain or with something?
