Anyone heard of this city before? This is the city where they are getting married at. I am thinking they are getting married at the Belvedere Mansion (but I am not 100% positive on that), but they said it was at a mansion and that is the one I found when searching.
Their wedding is at 3:00 and it is 2 hours by train. I am thinking about seeing if there are hotels near by and we go up there on Friday night and spend the night and then we will already be there for Saturday and then go back to the hotel we were staying at in NYC for Saturday night. It might be too much trouble though and just easier to take a train back and forth (depending on how much a train is).
Re: Staatsburg, NY
I've heard of it...I think it's near Poughkeepsie (if I'm thinking of the right town). If I'm right, that is pretty far from NYC. You might be better off staying near the wedding than worring about commuting the day of the wedding. I'm going to bet the round trip train fair is about 35-40 bucks/person. Check Metro North for train info. I know it runs up there cause I've taken it.
Thanks.
I am thinking it will be worth staying near the wedding on Friday night. I will check metro north.
If that's correct, then according to Ross Gellar, it's quite a treck. :-)
Anyone remember that episode of "Friends"?? :-)
Well I found out more information. They are having the rehearsal somewhere in NYC because they are getting married at a mansion but it is in like a state park. They have friends who will be driving up there on Saturday so we will ride with them. I know it is cheaper but I was looking forward to taking a train, oh well.
At least we won't have to check out, drag our luggage, check in, check out, drag luggage, etc.
Since they are having the rehearsal in the city that will give us more time on Friday to explore since we don't need to leave to catch a train.
I am so looking forward to this trip! Hopefully I won't have a bunch of morning sickness and doctor will let me go, if not we will take the baby(s) out there sometime.
I'm sure you will have a blast!
I heart NYC.
