what are you reading right now?

Now that my semester is over I have a little bit more time to read. What are you reading now, or what have you read recently? And would you recommend it?

I read Peony in Love by Lisa See this weekend and loved it. I haven't read her other books, but I'm definitely planning to now!

Re: what are you reading right now?

  • I'm currently reading "You say Tomato, I say Shut Up: A love story"

by  Annabell Gurwitch and Jeff Kahn.

    Extremely amusing and insightful :o)

  • I just finished The Lovely Bones.  I was not very impressed with it - I did not like the ending.  But the detail by the author was pretty good.

I am still reading Dragon Fly in Amber.  This is the second book of the Outlander series.  While it takes a mintue to catch on I would recommend these books.

Under the Dome by Stephen King was GREAT.  Again I didnt like the ending, but his attention to detail still amazes me and I <3 Stephen King.  Oh and the characters?!?!  They were the BOMB.

I should have gotten lots more reading done while I was homebound, but the reality TV over took me for those months.  Duh.

  • I've been re-reading some of the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charline Harris. They are easy, entertaining reads.

I haven't decided what I'm going to read next. I have a big stack of "to read" books. I just can't make up my mind.

  • House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski. Its for book club and if I wasn't such a dedicated member, I probably would never have picked it up. It's not a summer read by any stretch - Lots of random footnotes and some pages are just one word. Very artsy.

  • The Help... it's next months bookclub book...then i am  on to the latest Sookie Stackhouse I just got!
  • I've never read or seen the movie, "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."  We even went to Savannah about a month ago and heard a lot about it.  I wish I would have read it before we went, but didn't.  DH just got me the book the other day, so that's what I'm reading now.

  • I am reading Sarah's Key and really liking it. It is sad but a good story. I have The Help to read next. I have heard great things about it!
  • It makes me feel very un-educated and unworldly for not having a "current" read, nor do I really have a "to read" list.  I keep meaning to, but somehow....sigh, I just keep trying to keep up with my magazines and even those are consuming me.  Blah.  I LOVE reading books, I just can't get a solid block of time to feel like I can start (and importantly finish) a GOOD book.
  • Right now I am reading Burned by PC Cast, the latest in the House of Night Series. I just got done re-reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels. They are great leisure reads!! For more recommendations of books check out my blog: Just One More Chapter: http://carrierundhaugbooks.blogspot.com/
  • Thanks for the suggestions! I've added some of these to my GoodReads to-read list.
