Annoyed

My trouble student who I have talked about before finally got a one-on-one. The downside is that she is either always running late or absent at least 1 day a week. Friday she was out and he punched out the window to my closet. Today she knew that my classroom assistant was going to be out and she texts me this morning that she is running late. It is now 10 and no sign from her. I am extremely annoyed and she is going to be out again on Thursday. I really question people's work ethics sometimes.

  • Does her boss know she is always out or late? I don't know how you do it. I'm not sure I would have patience.
  • She sucks!! You would think she would be well aware of the effects of her being late. Tell her I said she sucks.

  • Everyone is aware that she is always late but she is an outside contractor so we don't have any authority over her. She does suck.
  • Dont you have the authority to fire her and hire someone else?  You'd think in a job like hers punctuality and a strong work ethic would be at the top of the priority list.

  • Wow that's seriously sucky. Is she a contractor that works for an agency? If so maybe you can call the agency and they can do something. Is there a do not hire list at your place because if she keeps it up she should definitely not be recommended to be responsible for anything.
  • She works for an outside agency which is paid for by his insurance. I have called her agency/boss and made them aware that she is frequently late and/or absent and their response is that it is her or no one at this point.This is always the same agency that avoided our calls the 5 weeks he didn't have anyone. i am just feeling really bitchy today and the whole situation sucks

    Have you been tracking the days she's late and how late she is, and the effect it has on his behavior?  It would be worth at least doing that in case you need it later as "proof" that she isn't really effective in her role since she's always late...
