What are those floating fluffy things in the air?

They look like snowflakes. Do you have these in your area?

I know they're some kind of seed, but does anyone know which kind?

  • I assumed they were dandelion seeds. I could be wrong.

On a side note - I saw you're a Nanowrimo finisher. I was just wondering what you've done with your manuscript since December 1st. I'm thinking about trying to do it this year.

I've completed three drafts of my NaNo manuscript, but it's far from finished. I have tons of rewrites in my future. The first draft was fun...the editing and polishing and rewriting...no fun at all.

ETA: Oh, and these fluffy things are pretty big--I'd guess an inch or two in diameter.

  • I also assumed they were dandelion puffs.  That or some other plant is sending up pods.

  • I think they're from some type of tree actually, they are everywhere in my neighborhood.  My cats sit in the window for hours and stare at them b/c it literally looks like it's snowing outside.
  • They could be dandelion, but up here north of Dayton it is from the cottonwood trees.
